Paradise Point

We have just returned from a quick weekend trip up to Queensland for Clint’s mum’s 60th birthday party 🎉

We flew out on Friday and after a stopover in Melbourne we were up in Brisbane by 10pm.

Having come from cooler weather we took a little while to adjust to the warmer and humid weather in Queensland.

On Saturday it was warm very early so we walked across the road to the beach (yes ultra convenient) in Paradise Point and went for a swim and a paddle on the stand up paddle board. The water was a nice level of cool so we spent a few hours out there before venturing back to the house.

On the way back we stopped in for an icecream at Baskin Robbins before venturing back to the house for some downtime before getting ready for the party.

The party was held at the Stingray bar in the QT Hotel on the Gold Coast and it was a great venue with plenty of room to celebrate Vicky’s birthday with friends and family. The drinks were flowing and plenty of food on offer including little pies with injectible gravy, quesadillas, jalapeño poppers and more. The dessert platter that came out was filled to the brim with macaroons, cakes, little tarts and more and it was a great night.

The combi they had parked in the driveway on the way out was pretty cool too.

We pulled up surprisingly well on Sunday but spent most of it lazing around inside because it was mid 30’s outside with 50% humidity so our tassie acclimatised bodies weren’t used to it at all.

We flew back from Brisbane mid afternoon arriving back in Hobart late evening. It’s been a big weekend and luckily for us it’s a public holiday for those living in South Tasmania today so we have a day to recover before heading back to work.

Here’s one final shot from up in the sky as being above the clouds always makes me smile.
