NYE at Hobart Waterfront

We didn’t have a lot planned for New Years Eve so decided to head down to Salamanca and the Hobart waterfront last night.

Our first stop after we parked the car was at a great little bar called Preachers. Set inside an old house in Battery Point it has a great setup with a couple of bars and an outdoor area even with a big bus on the corner. Definitely worth a stop as the bar food that came out to the table next to us looked really good. They sell a range of craft beers, cider and spirits and plenty of tables and bean bags to sit around on.

After our pitstop we walked past the taste of Tasmania which had a private function on and walked down to the Hobart waterfront.

All the sailing boats that had come in from the Sydney to Hobart and the Launceston to Hobart yacht races were all parked up and out for viewing.

After a wander around the pier we managed to get a table for dinner at a local Chinese restaurant with a view out over the pier and the yachts. I’m always laughing at this guy especially when we try to get a photo together.

After dinner we ventured home and watched a movie. It worked out well as half an hour after the movie finished it was midnight and we were celebrating the beginning of 2017.
